5.22.2026 Weekly Eblast from the Board

SAVE THE DATE – Please reserve Saturday, June 6 in your calendars for a Preserve Workday as we join the Roads Committee in repairing erosion along the shoulders of our roadways.  More information, including start time and volunteer details, will follow soon.  We appreciate everyone who can lend a hand helping maintain and improve our community.

NEIGHBORHOOD NOSH – Another lovely evening on Wednesday, May 20th at The Woodbridge Inn with fifteen neighbors dining out sharing life stories and experiences and lots of laughs.  We will be pausing Neighborhood Nosh for the summer as the calendar seems to be quite busy for folks.  We will resume in the fall!  Thanks to everyone who took time to try something new in our neighborhood to continue community connection.

MOVIE NIGHT – Grab your chairs, your blankets, and your snack strategy—it’s Movie Night at The Lodge!  Join us Friday, May 29th at 8:00 PM for an outdoor showing of the comedy classic The Great Outdoors… because nothing says “relaxing community evening” like raccoons, bears, and John Candy.  Please bring your own: Chair or blanket, Drinks, Snacks, Any additional survival equipment for a night in the wilds of The Lodge pavilion.  Air-popped popcorn will be available while supplies last.  Come enjoy a fun night under the stars with neighbors, laughs, and hopefully fewer mosquitoes than the movie had bears.

MOUNTAIN WOMEN’S LUNCH BUNCH – Our next Mountain Women’s Lunch Bunch will be on Wednesday, June 3rd at The Lodge at 12:30. Bring your own lunch and some to share if you would like.   All ladies are welcome!

HAPPY HOUR – The next Happy Hour at The Lodge will be on Sunday, June 7th at 5:00 pm for a fun and relaxed evening together.  All are welcome—whether you’re a longtime resident or new to the community. Feel free to bring an appetizer or dessert to share and remember it’s BYOB.  It’s always a great time with good conversation, laughter, and friendly faces—we hope to see you there!  Your host from the social committee will be Ginny Lummus.

ANNUAL PICNIC – The Preserve Annual Picnic is almost here! All residents are invited to join us on Saturday, June 13th from 5:30–8:30 PM for an evening filled with food, music, laughter, and community fun.  The Preserve will provide the BBQ.  Residents are invited to bring a side dish or dessert to share.  And now for the sweet part…This year we’re adding a brand-new event to the festivities: The Strawberry Showdown! Residents are invited to bring a strawberry-inspired dessert to enter our first-ever dessert competition. Homemade masterpieces and store-bought-with-flair creations are both welcome. Need inspiration? Think: Strawberry shortcake, Cheesecake, Strawberry pie, Bars, trifles, cookies, cobblers, cupcakes & other berry delicious creations!  The esteemed Board of Directors will serve as the official judging panel (cue the dramatic music), bravely tasting their way through the entries in search of The Preserve’s ultimate strawberry champion. Glory, bragging rights, and possibly powdered sugar-covered fame await. Come hungry, bring your sweet tooth, and get ready for a berry fun evening with neighbors!  Please RSVP with your side dish or dessert choice by June 11th to: Donna Brunson at: dsbrunson@gmail.com

We all know that this event is a lot of work preparing and cleaning up.  We will be setting up on Saturday morning at 9:30 at The Lodge.  If you would like to help set up and/or clean up please let Elizabeth Wilke know at 678-596-5545 or elizabethwilke17@gmail.com.  We would greatly appreciate it!

CUL-DE-SAC SOCIAL – Remember summer nights as kids… riding bikes, chasing fireflies, playing in cul-de-sacs until the streetlights flickered on and someone yelled, “Time to come home!”?  We’re bringing back a little of that easy summer magic—with a grown-up version (and better snacks).  Join your neighbors for the very first Cul-de-Sac Social hosted by David & Elizabeth Wilke on Terrace Way!  WHERE? Terrace Way Cul-de-Sac.  WHEN? Friday, June 19th at 6:30 PM until the streetlights come on- errr or until it is too dark to see!  This is as casual as it gets: Bring your own chair, bring a lantern or two, bring your own snacks and maybe some to share, bring your own drinks and bring your neighborly spirit!  The Wilkes will provide music, a few games, a big trough of ice for drinks, and a relaxed place to gather, laugh, mingle, and enjoy a summer evening together and maybe a spontaneous dance party (no guarantees… but no promises either).  Think front-porch energy meets block party vibes. Wander over, stay awhile, meet someone new, and enjoy one of those simple nights that make neighborhoods feel like community.  All residents are welcome—we hope to see you there!

Memorial Day reminds us that freedom is never free.  Wishing our community a safe, reflective, and enjoyable holiday weekend.
